Girl Scout Troop 907 is located in northeast Dallas, Texas, based out of Forestridge Elementary School in the Richardson
ISD. Our troop has been together for years, with some of the girls in the troop having been members since the 1st grade. Our
girls are now in the 5th - 7th grade, and our troop now includes girls from other school districts. We have troop members
who reside in Dallas, Richardson, Oak Cliff, Lake Highlands, Garland, and Plano. Our troop's girls have included, over
the years, natives from Nigeria, Mexico, Vietnam, China, and Iran. Languages spoken by our members have included English,
Spanish, Danish, Nigerian, Arabic, Vietnamese, and Chinese. Some of our members have left only because they have moved away
to Ohio, Florida, California, other countries, or other parts of Texas. All cultures, ethnicities, and religious beliefs
are welcomed!
Our troop is now bridging from Juniors to Cadettes, and the girls are very ambitious to accomplish wonderful
things and to go to fabulous places to grow as Girl Scouts. Plans are in the works to travel to San Antonio, TX, New York
City, and to Washington, DC over the next few years. We plan to work on business, cooking, and sewing skills, as well as recruiting
new girls into our organization. We are also beginning to work on community service projects and on our Bronze Award
over the summer of 2005.
Thank you for your interest and support of our Girl Scout troop!
Part of the Girl Scout Law and Promise is to make the world a better place. Our troop actively participates
in serving the Dallas community. We have performed at nursing homes, and have helped younger troops to learn camping skills.
We have held many food drives and clothing drives to help serve the needy. Current plans are underway for our girls to work
with a local soup kitchen and an animal shelter. Our girls come from all walks of life and many different living and financial
situations, but they all share a desire to help others in a positive and powerful way. We also strive to live up to
the motto of the Girl Scout organization, to help girls grow strong!

We have an active troop which seeks to not only serve the community, but also to teach our girls valuable skills and
to learn about our world. In the past, our troop has visited the Dallas Museum of Art, the Dallas Arboretum, the RIchardson
Fountain Festival, the Dallas Zoo, The Plano Balloon Festival, Houston's NASA, the Cottonwood Art Festival, and the Texas
Capitol in Austin. We have gone camping at Eisenhower State Park in Lake Texoma, TX, at Cooper Lake State Park in near Cooper,
TX, and at Lake Whitney State Park near Hillsboro, TX. We were privileged to meet with former Texas Governor Ann Richards,
and famed NYC author Liz Smith, from Ft. Worth, in April, 2005.
